Ryan Kent’s transfer value has rocketed by nearly £5.5 million but Old Firm rival Odsonne Edouard is still worth more, according to respected website transfermarkt.co.uk.
Rangers star Kent played a key role in winning the club’s first Scottish Premiership title in a decade and that has been reflected in the fee the Ibrox club could command for him
The former Liverpool man is said to be worth £12.6 million which would represent around £5 million profit on what they paid for Kent and more than the reported £10 million Leeds United were willing to pay last summer.
Kent netted 13 goals and provided 15 assists to help Steven Gerrard’s men create history and will be pivotal to their Champions League chances.
However, while his value has shot up in the last six months the same website still claim Odsonne Edouard is Scottish football’s prize asset.
The Frenchman, who looks certain to head for the Parkhead exit, is reportedly worth £15.3 million in the transfer market but that is a rise of just short of £2 million since January after Celtic’s disastrous season.
The Glasgow giants dominated the list of top 10 most valuable stars of which only Ryan Christie’s value decreased.
The website’s report states: “The top spot in the ranking is occupied by Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard after an increase from previously €15 million to now €17 million.
“Second in the Premiership is Ryan Kent of titleholders Rangers. The 24-year-old left winger is up by €6 million to €14 million after 13 goals and 15 assists in 52 games.
“Kent has played an outstanding season. It can be said that the Englishman has finally replaced Alfredo Morelos as the decisive man at Rangers. While some Rangers players have not been as brilliant in the second half of the season as they were last year, there was no sign of this in Kent’s case.”
