Ryan Kent Rangers transfer latest as Fenerbahce launch bid for winger

Reports in Turkey have suggested that Fenerbahce are looking to bring Ryan Kent into their squad this summer.

The Rangers winger is out of contract at the end of the season and is currently free to speak to other clubs about his future.

Kent has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks with Leeds United and Burnley apparently interested.

But now Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has suggested that Turkish giants Fenerbahce could swoop.

The Sports Digitale reporter also claims the club have received positive references from current Gers star Ridvan Yilmaz and Kenny Miller.

Michael Beale hopes to keep Kent at Rangers and he spoke recently about plans to extend his contract.

He said: “We’ve had discussions around it and we’ve both parked everything until we’ve found a moment.

“We’ll sit and have another chat. We’re both cool, we’re both on the same page and I think it’s right after the amount of years he’s been here and the changes with his third manager here as well that he takes time to consider his options.

"It’s the same that we do as well. We’ve not put anything in front of him, we’ve just had conversations, at this moment in time that’s the best place to be.

“Is Ryan Kent playing very well at this moment in time? Yes, so there’s no issue. We just keep moving forward, I’m still building the squad that I want for next year and if he’s in it’s because he desperately wants to be here.

“If he’s out it’s because he doesn’t so it’s quite clear in that sense. Our relationship will always remain the same. It’s a young boy that I saw at the start of his journey so I’m quite proud with what he’s achieved so far in his career.”

Meanwhile,

Nico Raskin revealed that Rangers will be driven by two key objectives as they bid to topple city rivals Celtic in Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden.

With the Hoops 13 points clear at the top of the cinch Premiership and unbeaten in the four meetings between the teams so far this season, the Belgian midfielder is desperate for Gers to finally enjoy an Old Firm derby victory and keep alive their last remaining hopes of silverware.

“It’s very important for two reasons,” he told Sky Sports. “We need to win something for the season and it is our last chance. And also we want to win against them.

“We’ve now lost two games (against Celtic) since I came. I think the last game was close. We are not too far from them. I’m sure we can do something in the semi-final, I’m sure if we play our best we can do something good. We have to go there with a strong mentality and go for it.”
