Former Rangers midfielder Derek McInnes expects Leeds to reignite their interest in Ryan Kent this summer.
Marcelo Bielsa is known to be a big fan of Kent and tried to take him to Elland Road twice, including over the summer as he looked to boost his squad ahead of their Premier League return
Kent has been a key part of Rangers title charge this term and there is no doubt Steven Gerrard would be keen to keep the winger at Ibrox having knocked back previous interest.
Former Aberdeen boss McInnes told Premier Sports that it was vital for the Premiership title charge that the champions kept key men like Kent and Alfredo Morelos.
However, he reckons after the 24-year-old has rewarded his boss with some top performances the Yorkshire side will be back in the next window.
McInnes said: “I think it was important that Rangers managed to hold on to him (Ryan Kent) and Morelos, and both players have answered (Gerrard).
“I think it would be naive to think that there wouldn’t be more interest.
"I think Leeds seem pretty persistent and he is a player that they like, but Rangers have also been equally as persistent that they want to keep him here.
“ I think by all means the boy is enjoying it here (in Scotland) and when you come to a club like Rangers it is important that you experience Champions League football and win trophies.
“He has been a big part in winning the trophy this season, but hanging about a big club like Rangers only does your career good anyway.”
