Ryan Kent Rangers future latest as Burnley 'make their move' to sign Ibrox star on free transfer

Ryan Kent's future could be away from Rangers with Burnley making their move for the winger, according to a report.

The English Premier League newboys have been linked with the 26-year-old of late and the Daily Mail report that they've made their bid to land the Ibrox attacker on a free transfer as they begin planning for life in their return to England's top flight. The former Liverpool man is in the final weeks of his current contract with no news over any fresh agreement.

Michael Beale has spoken out about his desire to retain Kent, who he has a strong relationship with, beyond the summer alongside midfield team-mate Ryan Jack but no news has emerged from Rangers either way. The likes of Alfredo Morelos, Allan McGregor and Steven Davis are also out of contract come the end of the season.

Kent is free to talk to other clubs over a potential move due to being in the final six months of his current deal and Vincent Kompany and Co have declared their interest. Aberdeen's Luis 'Duk' Lopes is another player from Scotland on the radar.

The Clarets are ten points clear at the top of the English Championship with four games to play. They've already sealed promotion and are now on the cusp of winning the league.

Kent - who initially joined Rangers on loan under Steven Gerrard before making the move in a £7million permanent transfer - missed the big weekend win over St Mirren due to injury.

He's previously been linked with EPL outfit Leeds United. Beale faces a busy summer at Ibrox and has already stated a desire to add at least FIVE new recruits to his squad to join January arrivals Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin.

The former Norwich City and Standard Liege stars have hit the ground running with Cantwell on the scoresheet and assisting in a man of the match display against the Buddies.
