Ryan Kent Rangers exit escalates amid Fenerbahce TV reveal as winger named 'Steven Gerrard's prince'

Turkish media have been raving about Ryan Kent as the Rangers winger closes in on a free transfer to Fenerbahce.

Kent is set to leave Ibrox when his contract expires in a few weeks with Michael Beale looking elsewhere to rebuild his squad for next season. It looks increasingly likely Turkey will be his next destination as Fenerbahce have reportedly identified him as one of their main targets for the summer.

Fanatik say he is one of two players they have "reached an agreement" with alongside keeper Dominik Livakovic, who is also set to join on a free. Meanwhile journalist Senad Ok, speaking on a live broadcast on the Skorer YouTube channel, said:"We can say that Ryan Kent is largely finished." It's sparked plenty of excitement in Turkey as while Kent has gone off the boil at Ibrox in recent seasons, his reputation from his time within the Liverpool academy still holds weight.

Kent was brought to Ibrox by Steven Gerrard on an initial loan deal in 2018 and it was made permanent a year later with Rangers splashing out £7m for him after an impressive debut season. That connection sees Fanatik describe him as 'Steven Gerrard's Prince' while noting he is a "dribbling expert" whose "most important characteristic is the way he runs with the ball." They go on: "The Englishman, who likes to play at a high tempo, feels more comfortable playing on the left wing as an opposite-footed winger."

In total Kent has managed a creditable 33 goals and 57 assists in 218 games for Rangers so far but has been criticised for his recent output. With Kent set to leave, Rangers are believed to be looking at Honduran winger Luis Palma as one possible direct replacement.
