Ryan Kent provides update on Rangers future and reveals potential deciding factor

Ryan Kent admits he could be tempted back to help Rangers win silverware next season.

The Liverpool loanee’s impressive form has landed him the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award but he’s disappointed the Ibrox team have failed to earn winners’ medals.

Kent’s future remains unclear but he revealed the chance to end Gers’ eight-year wait for a major trophy next season could be a deciding factor.

Asked if he had unfinished business, he said: “Possibly, because I came up here to win trophies and that’s a department we’ve failed in this season. So it would be nice to come back and win silverware.

“The size of the club brings out the best in me. The club is back on the right track, especially with the manager they have. He has been excellent for me.

“I want to finish the campaign strongly. I’ll have plenty of time to think about the other stuff and discuss it with my representatives in the summer.”

Kent was dynamite in the Old Firm triumph last December and the 22-year-old hopes to plant another seed of doubt in Celtic for next term on Sunday.

The winger said: “We’ve done that already when we beat them in the first game at Ibrox, the first league win over them since 2012.

“We dominated them for the whole game. I was proud of that. It would be nice to sign off with another goal against Celtic.”
