Ryan Kent in Rangers training absence mystery that has fans in a sweat

The summer transfer window is always a nervy time for managers and fans.

And Rangers supporters to be in a bit of a sweat over the whereabouts of one of their key men.

Steven Gerrard and his history-making squad returned to start preparations of their first title in a decade earlier this week.

Fans have been swooning at the popular new training kit with images of their heroes being put through their paces.

However, one player has been conspicuous by his absence in the images of that have been posted throughout the week.

As yet, there have been no photos posted of Ryan Kent and that has left the light blue legions wondering why.

They have been quizzing the club social media manager, begging for evidence that he has returned with the rest of the squad and will be hoping that comes sooner rather than later.

In response to a gallery of training photos @Ryzie_1990 asked: "Admin, I am once again asking you, where is Ryan Kent?"

And @BlueArmy27 simply said: "Where's Ryan Kent?"

Perhaps the former Liverpool man has been given a little extra time off despite not being on international duty, such as new signing Fashion Sakala.

Alfredo Morelos is with Colombia at the Copa America while Scotland duo Jon McLaughlin and Nathan Patterson joined Glen Kamara, Filip Helander and Borna Barisic at Euro 2020.

But it isn’t clear why the 24-year-old has been nowhere to be seen and it hasn’t been lost on eagle-eyed fans.

Englishman Kent was pivotal in the Scottish Premiership title win and will be key again in their Champions League quest.

He was a transfer target for Leeds United last summer and fans will be desperate to hold on to him.

After Marcelo Bielsa’s men were rebuffed 12 months ago, Gerrard said: “The message for sure is 'hands off’.

“Ryan is a player we admire very much here. He's a player we've seen develop at Liverpool for a long time then brought him here and he did ever so well on loan.”
