Ryan Kent handed £30m Rangers price tag as Ally McCoist declares him 'vital'

Ally McCoist insists any bid for Ryan Kent would need to be between £25million and £30million for Rangers to sell him this summer.

The winger is vital to how Rangers play and was sensational yet again as his side trounced Celtic 4-1 in last weekend's final Old Firm game of the season.

Leeds had bids turned down for him last summer and are expected to come back in for him with Marcelo Bielsa a big fan of the Englishman.

But McCoist insists there's no way they can sell Kent unless it's for a crazy offer, and reckons Kent is worth a minimum of £25m and closer to £30m.

That would make him the most expensive sale in Scottish football with Kieran Tierney currently holding that record at £25m to Arsenal.

But McCoist feels that the type of player Kent is means any offer will need to be more for Steven Gerrard's men to consider selling him.

He told BT Sport: "It might happen if they get an unbelievable offer, that’s the economics of football. We understand that.

"He’s worth £25m to £30m, Ryan Kent. Absolutely.

"You need Ryan Kents. These are the players you need to unlock defences, to have the ball, have the stepovers.

"If you go left, he goes right and vice versa. He sees a pass, he commits somebody, he goes past somebody and then somebody has to come to him.

"He is absolutely vital to Rangers."
