Ryan Kalil to make preseason debut vs. Saints

The Jets will get their first live look at center Ryan Kalil on Saturday against the Saints.

After finally being able to participate in team drills this week, Kalil is ready for some game action. He will play about a quarter in Saturday’s contest. As for the rest of the Jets offensive line, both Kelechi Osemele and Brian Winters will not play on Saturday. However, both were able to participate in individual drills on Thursday and are on pace to start the regular season. Osemele is dealing with a pectoral muscle strain, while Winters has a shoulder injury.

Recently suspended linebacker Brandon Copeland suffered a thumb injury on Wednesday and did not practice on Thursday. He was not seen in the locker room, either.

Meanwhile, cornerback Trumaine Johnson took a minor step forward in his recovery from a hamstring injury, as he was on the practice field stretching. His status for Week 1 is still up in the air.
