The Carolina Panthers are expected to officially sign former Denver Broncos center Matt Paradis to a three-year deal today. Reported on Tuesday, the move is a surprise splurge by Carolina’s front office to plug a potentially large hole from opening up in the middle of the offensive line.
For the last 11 years, Ryan Kalil was the team’s starting center but he’s retiring. Kalil played well enough to earn five trips to the Pro Bowl, two All-Pro nods, and the adulation of a grateful fan-base for the rest of his days. Then again, everybody always loves the hot new thing and Panthers fans are tripping all over themselves to praise the Paradis move.
In the wake of the news, Kalil is having some fun at his own expense, sharing some lonely GIFs on social media featuring George Costanza and Forrest Gump.
