Ryan Jacoby and Marcus Crowley lose their black stripes

Two more Ohio State freshman have lost their black stripes and have officially become a Buckeye. Both offensive tackle Ryan Jacoby and running back Marcus Crowley were honored according to a couple of videos shared by Ohio State football’s official Twitter feed Monday.

If you’re counting, that’s now the fifth player to shed his black stripe in fall camp joining Jonah Jackson, Harry Miller, and Jameson Williams. There are sure to be more in the coming days.

Jacoby was rated as a four-star offensive tackle in the class of 2019 and committed to Ohio State in March of 2018. He was an early enrollee this spring.

Crowley, a running back from Jacksonville, Florida was a late offer for the Buckeyes, but an important one. He was rated as a four-star recruit as well and also joined the team early this spring. He could be an important combatant for the backup job to J.K. Dobbins.

We’ll be on top of any more black-stripes that get peeled away and let you know if you’re into these sort of things.
