He’s second only to James Tavernier in terms of length of service at Rangers.
So it’s little wonder Ryan Jack is refusing to allow injury to spoil the ecstasy of what has been achieved at Ibrox in the last few months.
Jack has been on the Rangers rollercoaster that hit the skids in Luxembourg under Pedro Caixinha and suffered horror derailments to Celtic under Graeme Murty.
He’s had to sit and watch the Hoops pass landmark after landmark on their way to the brink of history.
There were enough lows to crush a lesser being. And, to be fair, most members of that Caixinha disaster of 2017 got off the ride long ago.
Jack, Tavernier and Alfredo Morelos are the last men standing from that time.
And after finally ending the decade-long journey back to the top of Scottish football, stopping Celtic from claiming 10-in-a-row, the 29-year-old is enjoying every second.
Even a season-ending injury that deprived the midfielder of his place in the side and in Scotland’s squad for the Euros can’t keep the smile off his face.
And he has stressed the importance of having Steven Gerrard at the wheel for the last three years. The former Aberdeen ace told Rangers' official souvenir magazine: “Since the gaffer came in he has been excellent with me.
“The club have just kept moving up levels.
“There is no denying that getting the gaffer on board was great for the club and great for the players here.
“It has been excellent to learn from him and the coaching staff Gary McAllister, Mick Beale and Tom Culshaw.
“It has been a long journey full of highs and lows but this season the boys have produced and it has been a strong campaign.

“When you first sign for a massive club like Rangers, it’s all about winning trophies and trying to get silverware and sort of stamping your authority on the club.
“Rangers are a club known for winning trophies and as soon as you sign you become part of that and need to live up to that expectation.
“It took longer than I hoped but what a feeling it was to get it done this season. I’m proud of everyone’s efforts.
“It still hasn’t really sunk in. It’s something I’ve worked hard at along with everyone in the dressing room.
“When you have put so much into trying to win something – then do it with this group of players – it is really special.
“The league was our priority this season so to win it as quickly and as convincingly as we did was superb.
“I was delighted for everyone connected with the club.
“We all sat down at the start of the season and said we wanted to win trophies and be remembered.
“Going forward, there will hopefully be more chances where we can win things and we’re excited about that.”
Jack’s season may have been brought to an abrupt end by a calf injury in February.
But he had been a central part to the success story before then – not least when he smashed home a stunning volley in a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock in February.
The Scotland star revealed Gerrard had demanded his midfielders take more responsibility in and around the opposition’s box.
He said: “It was one of those moments where even before the ball came out to me, I was thinking that I was just going to take a touch and shoot. The manager had been on at the midfielders quite a lot about shooting more and taking more responsibility.

“So I had it in my mind that I was going to shoot.
“Obviously the way I hit it and the way it went in was great but it was an important three points on that day and thankfully we got over the line. It was a crucial goal.”
Just as vital was the work at the other end of the park where Gerrard’s side broke the British record for fewest goals conceded in a 38-game league campaign.
Only 13 times was their goal breached.
And Jack said: “Our defensive record has been excellent, from Allan McGregor and Jon McLaughlin to the back four.
“They have all been outstanding and I can’t praise them enough.
“It comes from the full team and the subs that come on too during games.
“We are big on defending from the front and everyone has bought into that.
“In midfield, Steven Davis has been outstanding and the way he controls games for us is brilliant.
“He’s always in the right position to start attacks on the counter.
“The way he plays and the type of guy he is off the pitch, he has been outstanding. I can’t speak highly enough of him.”
