Ryan Jack Rangers injury update as Steven Gerrard talks Ianis Hagi Covid latest

He's been out since February but it appears Ryan Jack is finally closing in on a Rangers return.

Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard has revealed the Scotland midfielder has had a more 'positive' week as he continues to work his way back from a troublesome calf injury.

Former Aberdeen man Jack had hoped to be back on the pitch for the Gers at the start of the season but that timeline has been pushed back.

Though, things are looking up for the 29-year-old, with Gerrard optimistic about having him to call upon sooner rather than later.

In better news, new boy Nnamdi Ofoborh is closer to making his Rangers debut after struggling with a heart issue that was flagged up during his medical.

Gerrard revealed the club should have a date for his return in coming days, while also confirming Ianis Hagi isn't suffering from any symptoms of Covid-19 after a positive test while on international duty with Romania.

He said: “We are in decent shape. Obviously Ianis Hagi is not available. Ryan Jack has had a positive week but isn’t available just yet.

“Nnamdi Ofoborh had a positive week and we should know more on his return in six to seven days.

“I spoke to Ianis and he didn’t have any symptoms which is good news. I will catch up with him again today.”
