Ryan Jack provides Rangers injury update as midfielder goes under the knife to be back for 56 tilt

Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack underwent a successful operation on Wednesday as he hopes to be fully fit for the start of next season's title defence.

The Ibrox linchpin has been ruled out for the remainder of 2020-21, including Scotland's Euro 2020 campaign in the summer.

His season has been stop start since suffering a knee injury in November but the likes of Glen Kamara and Steven Davis stepped up in the former Aberdeen captain's absence in midfield.

Jack's full focus is on recovering from his operation and helping the club to another Scottish Premiership crown.

And he echoed that famous two-word cry manager Steven Gerrard uttered at his unveiling three years ago: "Let's go."

He posted on Instagram: "Morning Teddy’s - just letting everyone know I had a successful operation yesterday morning and I’m now on the road to recovery.

"Can’t wait to be back for the start of next season and getting back doing what I love.

"Thanks to everyone for the messages it’s much appreciated. All focus now is on 56! Let’s go."

Jack is likely to return to an even more crowded Rangers midfield.

Davis has signed a fresh deal at Ibrox while Nnamdi Ofoborh will join up with his new team-mates in pre-season having signed a pre-contract agreement from Bournemouth.
