Ryan Jack injury update as Rangers midfielder 'progressing well' in race to return

Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack is "progressing well" in his push to return from injury.

The Ibrox star has been sidelined since February and suffered the bitter disappointment of missing his side's Premiership title run-in and Scotland's Euro 2020 campaign.

Jack underwent surgery on a persistent calf problem is and working his way back to fitness.

The 29-year-old hopes to be given the all-clear to step up his recovery to full contact training week.

“He’s good, he’s progressing well," Rangers boss Steven Gerrard told Sky Sports..

“He sees a surgeon in the middle of next week and hopefully he gets the green light to resume full training.

“He’s training with the boys right now but it’s all unopposed which is obviously all very different.

“If we get the green light from the surgeon on Wednesday, Ryan is good to go full throttle with the group - then it’s a case of getting minutes in his legs.

“He’s weeks away but he is a big player for us that is not too far away which is exciting for me.”
