Ryan Jack in Rangers vs Celtic injury blow as Steven Gerrard admits recovery frustration

Ryan Jack has been all but ruled out of the Old Firm clash next Saturday as Steven Gerrard admitted he's growing frustrated by the lack of progress.

The midfielder did train a couple of times earlier this week but hasn't played since the 4-0 win over Aberdeen last month and Gerrard has hinted he won't be available for next weekend.

Jack has suffered injury issues throughout his time at Rangers but is a key player for the Ibrox side when he is fit and available.

He's also a key man for Steve Clarke's Scotland side that have qualified for Euro 2020 and Gerrard spoke of his love for the midfielder last week.

That adds to the growing concern for the Rangers boss as he said: “We’re having a few issues with his recovery. I haven’t got a time frame on that one.

“I’m frustrated with where it’s at”.

Rangers take on the Hoops at Ibrox next Saturday and Jack was a substitute in their last game against them before making a second half appearance.

Connor Goldson got a double to take all three points back across the city and it was the second league win in a row for the Ibrox men against their greatest rivals.
