Ryan Jack in dreamland after Rangers Scottish Cup win as Hampden hero targets trophy clean sweep

Ryan Jack admits it was a dream to become a Hampden hero after suffering the nightmare of Seville.

The Rangers midfielder made the crucial breakthrough with a sensational strike in the first half of extra time as send the Ibrox men on their way to Scottish Cup glory.

Jack admitted it could not have gone much better for him after coming off the bench and he relished the chance to run the full length of the pitch to celebrate with Gers fans.

Scott Wright added the killer second and the pair kicked off the celebrations as the Light Blues added some silver to a special season.

Jack said: “From day one we have put in the work to meet the demands of this club.

“We had a massive disappointment on Wednesday night so to turn it around was incredible.

“It was a bit flat to start with but that was expected.

“We ground our way into the game and what a way to finish with myself and Scott getting the goals.

“I couldn't have dreamed it any better than this. To come on and get us ahead in the game.

“I’m so proud of the boys and all the backroom staff. It is for these fans to go and enjoy now.

“We always have to aim higher. In the off-season we can refresh and go again.

“Hopefully we can keep going and come together in every competition next year.”

Jack admitted it was tough to get the morale off the floor after the agony of the Europa League Final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt but he sees the cup win as a launch pad for next season under Gio van Bronckhorst.

Jack said: “The demand at Rangers is to win trophies. It was a massive disappointment on Wednesday and it was a wee bit flat at the start but we grinded away.

“Giovanni has just recently come in and he's been first class and hopefully with a pre-season under his belt we can go and compete in every competition next year."
