Ryan Jack in Aberdeen troll as Rangers star issues 'banter years' declaration after Mark Reynolds blunder

Rangers star Ryan Jack has rinsed pundit Mark Reynolds after his former Aberdeen team-mate declared St Johnstone should have been awarded a penalty for an incident involving the midfielder.

In an awkward TV blunder, Reynolds claimed Jack should have been given a spot-kick against him following his challenge on Adam Montgomery at Ibrox on Saturday. But the flashpoint actually took place in the Perth Saints box – and Jack has been quick to point out the error of his former Pittodrie pal on Instagram.

The Scotland cap made sure not to miss as he took a swipe at Aberdeen as part of his social media jibe with the club currently searching for Jim Goodwin's successor after a nightmare seven days which saw the club slump to Scottish Cup humiliation against Darvel and a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Hibs. Jack shared the clip on his Instagram story, first stating: 'Pen aww day!" with several laughing emojis. The Rangers man the followed up by taking a swipe at Aberdeen - with the interview shot outside their home ground.

Jack said: "Talking about me giving away a penalty in opposition box outside Pittodrie. Banter years man! I love this game!!!" This was in response to Reynold’s blunder Speaking on Sky Sports, the former defender was asked for an opinion on Willie Collum's decision to book Jack for a tackle on Montgomery, but the mistaken 35-year-old replied: "It's just trying to find that level of consistency. When you look back at the back at the tackle from Ryan Jack, he's caught him in the box and all intents and purposes - it's a penalty."
