Rangers assistant boss Gary McAllister has confirmed that crocked Ryan Jack is consulting a specialist over his latest injury blow.
The 29-year-old was named in Steve Clarke 's Scotland squad for games against against Austria, Israel and the Faroe Islands but pulled out due to a calf knock.
Jack has not made an appearance for his club since the 4-1 win over Dundee United in February.
McAllister confirmed at the club press conference today that the club had sent their midfielder to a specialist.
Ryan Jack has been in London seeing a specialist and we are awaiting results on this as we try to get to the bottom of his issue.
McAllister said: "Ryan has been down in London seeing some specialists. We're awaiting some of the results coming back up from that visit.
"We're obviously just trying to get some further investigations to get to the bottom of Ryan's problem, so we'll wait for the results of that."
However, there was some good news over Rangers skipper James Tavernier.
The right-back has been missing for the first-team since the Europa League first leg win over Royal Antwerp, but with Nathan Patterson suspended by the SFA rule breachers the club are short of cover.
Ahead of the Scottish Cup clash with Cove Rangers, McAllister added: "The positive on Tav is that he is back on the grass and that was nice to see yesterday.
"He's out there training on his own with the physios but that's a big positive. He's getting closer and closer."
