Ryan Hedges set for Aberdeen transfer call as Blackburn Rovers refuse to take no for an answer

Determined Blackburn Rovers will ramp up their interest in Aberdeen star Ryan Hedges again in January.

The Dons knocked back a six-figure bid from the English Championship side in the last window.

Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack has made it clear that he wants to keep his Welsh international at Pittodrie.

The problem for the Dons is that Hedges is in the final year of his contract and has indicated that he wants to consider his options.

Blackburn remain interested and are prepared to make another move in January.

The English Championship club would also be willing to offer a pre-contract to secure a deal.

There also remains interest from rivals Middlesbrough, while Cardiff City were also keen before Mick McCarthy departed.

Aberdeen remain determined to extend Hedges’ contract and haven’t given up the fight to get him to sign a new deal.

Hedges is in his third year at Aberdeen after he moved from Barnsley back in 2019.

Hedges is keen to force his way back into the Welsh squad and to continue developing his career.

Dons manager Stephen Glass has already argued his club’s case urging Hedges to stay and remain a top player at Aberdeen rather than going elsewhere.

Hedges has helped Aberdeen to get back to form with seven points from the last nine.
