Ryan Hedges completes Aberdeen move as he becomes Derek McInnes' first summer signing

Aberdeen have completed the signing of Ryan Hedges on a three-year deal.

The winger will join from Barnsley when his contract ends on July 1 and he becomes the first signing of the summer for Derek McInnes' side.

Hedges spent the last two seasons at Barnsley after signing under Hibs boss Paul Heckingbottom.

He played 59 times over the period, scoring four goals for the club.

The versatile forward can play through the middle or on either winger.

The 23-year-old started his career at Flint Town before earning a move to Swansea where he had loan spells at Leyton Orient, Stevenage and Yeovil before joining Barnsley.

Wales have capped him three times since he made his debut against Panama in 2017.

Aberdeen are also expected to complete the signing of Curtis Main soon from Motherwell, while Alex Gorrin is another target.
