Ryan Giggs slams three Manchester United players following Liverpool draw

Wales manager Ryan Giggs has slammed Manchester United's defence after they conceded late on at Old Trafford to draw 1-1 with Liverpool.

Marcus Rashford had opened the scoring in the first half, and it looked as though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men might hold on to claim a famous victory and end the Reds' mammoth unbeaten streak.

But substitute Adam Lallana produced a vital tap-in from an Andy Robertson cross which saw Jurgen Klopp's side avoid defeat at the hands of their rivals.

Giggs was critical of the defending in the build-up to Lallana's all-important equaliser - and singled out Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Marcus Rojo and Ashley Young for their inability to stop the No.20 snatching a point.

Speaking to Optus Sport, the Manchester United legend said: "Wan-Bissaka has not played a lot of games, maybe if he was a little bit fitter and sharper he would have got out quicker.

"But for Rojo to actually go past [Harry] Maguire is strange. If he holds his position maybe he can clear it.

"Ash [Young] never really gets goal-side but if you watch Rojo, he just anticipates where the ball is going to be instead of staying with his man.

"I think it’s a poor goal to give away.

"But Liverpool, for that five or ten minutes, were knocking at the door and there you see Robertson crossing the ball a lot further up the pitch, where for the majority of the game, him and Trent Alexander-Arnold were crossing the ball from 40, 45 yards out."
