Ryan Giggs questions what Marcus Rashford did after Manchester United defeat to Man City

Ryan Giggs has questioned why Marcus Rashford wore a cap while being interviewed following Manchester United's defeat to Man City on Wednesday night.

The England international spoke to the media after the derby defeat during the week as United saw their hopes of Champions League qualification dented.

Rashford was the only United player who spoke publicly following the defeat and he openly discussed the lack of quality which was on show from his side.

Analysing the match Giggs praised the 21-year-old for speaking so honestly, but questioned his choice of headgear during the interview.

"Well, he’s a young player, we’ve all done it… an interview after the game, you’re emotional, you’re not happy," Giggs told Optus Sport.

"I don’t know why he’s wearing that cap, but that might be just me – old school, not like the modern footballer now.

"He’s upset, he says he think they’re good enough – they’re not good enough. When you see City keeping the ball, they’re not good enough.

"Midfield giving angles, when you’re a player you need two or three options, that short pass, one in behind and you need the safe pass. City have always got those options, always.

"United, because of the first touch, or not good enough, because of the options they have, they just kick it long and it’s not good enough.

"We haven’t got as good players as Liverpool and Manchester City."
