Ryan Giggs makes exciting Wales prediction for Liverpool star Neco Williams and Swansea City's Ben Cabango

Ryan Giggs believes new call-ups Ben Cabango and Neco Williams will win many caps for Wales in the future.

Williams has impressed since making his first team breakthrough for Liverpool, with the Wrexham-born 19-year-old making 11 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League winners last term.

As for Cabango, he became an integral figure for Swansea City after making his league bow for the club in November. He featured 26 times for Steve Cooper's side as they reached the Championship play-offs during the 2019/20 campaign.

Such have been their efforts, the young pair were called up to a senior international squad for the first time this week for Wales' upcoming Nations League fixtures with Finland and Bulgaria.

And Giggs has revealed his assistant Rob Page - who worked with Williams and Cabango during his time as manager of Wales' Under-21 side - had nothing but praise for the young pair when it came to selecting them in his 26-man squad.

"I've been hugely impressed with both of them," said Giggs.

"Obviously Neco is at a huge club in Liverpool and is getting plenty of game time, especially towards the end of last season.

"He's been really impressive in taking his chance. He's an exciting prospect. Ben also, I've known a lot about him with Pagey coming into the staff, he's worked with him in the Under-21s.

"I followed him last year when he played for the Under-21s, but he had a fantastic season, especially towards the end of the season with Swansea, and I'm excited to work with them because I think they're two talents who will be playing many games for Wales for years to come."

Wales take on Finland at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium on Thursday, September 3 before hosting Bulgaria at Cardiff City Stadium three days later.

The Red Dragons have not played since defeating Hungary 2-0 in the Welsh capital in November last year, a result that ensured Giggs' troops qualified for Euro 2020.
