Ryan Giggs living 'home alone' after arrest over row with girlfriend and Wales decision

Ryan Giggs is living home alone after being arrested following a row with his girlfriend.

The Wales boss was questioned on suspicion of actual bodily harm and assault following an alleged bust-up with Kate Greville, 36.

He was released on bail pending further inquiries.

Kate is now understood to be staying with relatives, Mirror UK reports.

Giggs, 46, denies the allegations but has stepped aside as the boss of Wales for the team’s next three games.

A statement released on Giggs’ behalf said: “He denies all allegations of assault made against him. He is cooperating with the police and will continue to assist them with their ongoing investigation.”

Wales are due to play the USA in a friendly in Swansea next Thursday. They then have two Nations League matches, both in Cardiff, against Ireland and Finland.

The Welsh FA said: “The Football Association of Wales and Ryan Giggs have mutually agreed that he will not be involved in the upcoming international camp.

"Robert Page will take charge for the next three matches.”

Police were called to a “disturbance” at the Manchester United legend’s £1.7million mansion in Worsley, Greater Manchester, just after 10pm on Sunday.

Dad-of-two Giggs emerged from Pendleton police station after hours of questioning.

Giggs had been at Hotel Football, in Manchester, which he co-owns, earlier in the day to see Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat by Arsenal.

He is then believed to have gone to the Stock Exchange Hotel, which he also co-owns, in the city.

Giggs has been dating Kate on and off since 2017.
