Ryan Giggs explains Solskjaer's handling of Manchester United star Paul Pogba

Ryan Giggs admitted he's got sympathy for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over the Paul Pogba situation at Manchester United.

Pogba, who has been regularly linked with a move away from United amid interest from Real Madrid and others, suffered a fresh injury after fighting back form an ankle problem to make substitute appearances versus Watford and Newcastle.

It means the player hasn't started a United game since September 30, though Solskjaer has expressed his frustration when continually asked

The 26-year-old sees his Old Trafford contract expire in the summer of 2021 and could leave United in the next six months.

Giggs was asked while working as a pundit for the Premier League whether he expects Pogba to remain a United player beyond the summer and replied: "No, no."

He then explained why he's got sympathy for his former teammate Solskjaer as the Norwegian faces ongoing questions in press conferences about the French midfielder.

"I feel sorry for Ole because he’s got to continuously answer questions on Paul Pogba," added Giggs.

“I say United are on a good run at the moment and that’s without him. He’s come on and done okay in a few games but it’s disappointing at the moment.

“He is a talent, we talk about him all the time, he’s not consistently done it for United.

“Ole can only deal with the players that are fit at the moment.

“To continuously answer questions on a player that is rumoured to be leaving, to be injured, to be elsewhere when he should be perhaps in Carrington training, is frustrating to a manager.”
