Southampton have joined the race to sign Scots star Ryan Gauld.
MailSport understands the English Premier League outfit have now declared their interest to the player’s representatives.
Gauld faces a big decision on his future this summer, with offers already in from Europe, America and Asia.
The 25-year-old missed out on Steve Clarke’s squad for the Euros but is a free agent after leaving Portuguese club Farense.
Despite his side being relegated, Gauld enjoyed a terrific campaign, scoring nine goals.
There is concrete interest in the former Dundee United ace from clubs in Spain, France and Portugal.
Polish side Legia Warsaw have also tabled an offer and Gauld has the option of moving Stateside with
several MLS teams throwing their hats into the ring as well.
The playmaker, who moved to Sporting Lisbon from Tannadice in 2014 for £3million, could seal a UK return with Southampton.
He has offers from English Championship sides but Gauld would fancy a move to St Mary’s, where he’d team up with his former United pal Stuart Armstrong under manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
