Ryan Gauld earns Moussa Dembele link-up chance as Lyon look to the future

Scotland under-21 international Ryan Gauld could get the chance to link-up with Moussa Dembele as Lyon get set to seal a partnership with Farense.

The 24-year-old scored nine goals in 24 games as the Faro club won promotion to the top flight.

Now L'Équipe is reporting that Gauld's club is set to enter into a new partnership with Lyon.

The newspaper states that OL are keen to move young Brazilian signings to Portugal on loan to help them settle into European football.

Camilo, a 21-year-old midfielder, joined the French club in January and could be sent to Farense where he will have no issues with the language.

Lyon could also send French youngsters to Farense, and there may be the possibility of players moving the other way.

After his starring role in promotion last season, Gauld may well fancy his chances of impressing the French club and earning a move to a top five league.

Although OL missed out on Europe last season they have plenty of big names in their squad.

They're captained by former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay but their star man is Moussa Dembele.

The former Celtic striker scored 16 Ligue 1 goals last season and has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs.
