Ryan Fredericks reveals the song which sums up West Ham's season under Manuel Pellegrini

There is often times in life where music can be used to explain a situation better than anything else.

A certain song can evoke memories or emotions like nothing else can.

Music and football can go hand in hand, with different songs able to sum up the season a club or what emotion a player is experiencing.

Pellegrini reveals why he dropped Diop for West Ham before barnstorming return against Spurs

Now, West Ham defender Ryan Fredericks has revealed the song that he feels  explains how the 2018/19 season has worked out for his club.

"It's been a bit of a frustrating season, it's still promising a lot, we're almost there, but not quite, so probably George Benson Never Give up on a good thing," he told the BBC's The Premier League Show.

"We're fighting to be best of the rest it's so hard to break into that top six, but the size of the club we are at I don't see why we can't build and one day break in.

"The title of the song will probably sum us up."

Manuel Pellegrini's men sit in 11th Place in the Premier League table, eight points adrift of seventh placed Wolves with two matches of the season left to play.

The Hammers can still finish as high as eighth or as low as 14th depending on how they and other teams finish the season.

Fredericks has himself endured a frustrating season, missing 11 games between November and January with an ankle injury.

He has been a regular starter since his comeback, most recently impressing in West Ham's 1-0 victory over London rivals Tottenham last Saturday (April 27th).

Preparations for the 2019/20 season will already be happening, but the Hammers will be looking to finish the season on a high when they take on Southampton at the London Stadium on Saturday, before finishing the season with a trip to Vicarage Road to take on Watford the following week.
