Ryan Fraser transfer chase as Galatasaray aim to pip Arsenal in race to land Scotland star

In-demand Ryan Fraser has been lined up for a shock move to Galatasaray with the lure of Champions League football on offer to tempt him to move to Turkey.

The ex- Aberdeen star is out of contract at Bournemouth and is poised for a fresh start after spending seven years at Bournemouth following his bargain £400,000 sale from Aberdeen.

He's been linked with moves to Arsenal, Spurs and Crystal Palace, but none of those sides look likely to qualify for next season's Champions League tournament.

But Istanbul giants Galatasaray are just three points off the top of the Turkish Super League, which is due to resume early next month and are hopeful of winning the title.

And they want Fraser to replace Nigerian international winger Henry Onyekuru, who is on loan from Monaco and will return at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old, who has won 11 caps for Scotland, has agreed to enter into talks with Galatasaray if they win a Champions League spot, according to reports in Turkey.

Fraser leaving Bournemouth for nothing is set to be a financial disaster for his former club Aberdeen. The Dons would have been due a huge cash windfall of anything up to £6 million because of the 20 per cent sell-on clause they inserted into the deal with Fraser at one stage linked with a £30 million move to Arsenal.

But the cash-strapped Pittodrie club won't receive a penny now once Fraser leaves Bournemouth this summer wherever he decides to go.
