In-demand Ryan Fraser is poised to turn his back on Bournemouth’s relegation fight for fear of scuppering a big money move, according to a report.
The Scotland international is a wanted man and he is poised to reject a new deal at the Vitality Stadium, which means he would only be available for two games before his deal is up.
The 26-year-old is a target for Tottenham and Arsenal and has also been watched extensively by Crystal Palace.
Eddie Howe's side are in discussions with the likes of Charlie Daniels, Simon Francis, Artur Boruc and Andrew Surman all expected to sign short term agreements which will see them through to the re-jigged end of this campaign.
Fraser though is not expected to be joining them - which means he will be only be available for the Cherries next two games, against Crystal Palace at home and at Wolves, prior to his deal ending on June 30.
If the former Aberdeen academy star doesn't change his mind, he will miss their last remaining crunch games in a testing run-in to the season, against Newcastle, Manchester United, Tottenham, Leicester, Manchester City, Southampton and Everton.
Fraser has been training with Howe’s squad as they have prepared for the re-start, which they go into lying 18th in the table, mired in the relegation zone, and having won only one of their last six games.
Cherries manager Howe wants to keep Fraser, and the club have not given up hope of persuading the former Aberdeen player to sign a new deal, but it now looks unlikely.
Fraser has not had the best of campaigns this year as the Cherries have struggled, scoring just once and providing four assists - but the Scot netted eight goals last term and served up 15 assists.
Unlike Charlton contract rebel Lyle Taylor though, Fraser has not said he will not be training and playing for the club while under contract.
A Bournemouth spokesman said: “Ryan has been training with the squad since we came back. His attitude has been first class. Nothing is set in stone yet.”
