Ryan Fraser agrees to join Newcastle United as Magpies close in on double swoop

Newcastle United hope to complete the free transfer signing of Ryan Fraser tomorrow.

The Scotland international has agreed a deal in principle but faces a medical and the usual formalities on Tyneside on Monday morning.

Fraser has kept Newcastle waiting over the summer after interest from Everton and Celtic in recent weeks.

But the winger has been in the city over the weekend and will hope to join up with former AFC Bournemouth team-mate Callum Wilson, who has agreed a move to the club for £20million.

Wilson started his medical on Sunday and faces further tests tomorrow.

Steve Bruce feels that his side will have a different dimension if he can sign both Wilson and Fraser who linked up well for the Cherries during some impressive Premier League years.

Although, last season proved to be a struggle for Bournemouth as they were relegated and Fraser refused to sign a contract extension after lockdown.

Newcastle have effectively cashed in on Bournemouth’s misfortune by acquiring both stars but Bruce and his squad start the season as one of the favourites to go down according to Odds Checker.
