Ryan Edmondson targeted for Aberdeen loan as Derek McInnes eyes deal for Leeds United striker

Aberdeen have made a move to land Leeds United striker Ryan Edmondson.

The Dons are trying to tie up a loan deal for the 19-year-old frontman.

Derek McInnes confirmed in his pre-match press conference that he was looking to bring in an attacker with Sam Cosgrove and Curtis Main both injured.

McInnes wants to bring in Edmondson on-loan from Leeds to fill that void.

He has already explored different targets but hopes he has got his man this time.

The England youth international is likely to move north on a short-term deal.

Edmondson had a spell at York City before  the Premiership new boys moved for him.

McInnes, as it stands, only has Bruce Anderson fit as his only first-team striker with any experience.

Anderson is set to start against Rangers on Saturday.

Aberdeen will hope to get Edmondson done before Saturday although that could be dependent on clearance and COVID-19 testing.
