Ryan Day out for Saturday’s game against Michigan State

If we’re being honest, we’re still waiting to see if Ohio State will be able to play Saturday against Michigan State. If we’re able to find the game on a television set or streaming device near you, it looks like head coach Ryan Day won’t be making that trip according to ESPN’s Heather Dinich.

Day was one of several individuals who tested positive for the coronavirus last week and he won’t be out of isolation by the time the game rolls around according to an OSU spokesman that confirmed the timing to Dinich. Monday would be the first time that Day can return if he meets the CDV guidelines.

The OSU head coach was also not going to be able to make the trip to Illinois last week as a part of the protocols. Because of it, the head coaching duties were going to fall to assistant head coach Larry Johnson. It was confirmed to be the same plan this coming weekend as long as the game is able to be played.

We’re still awaiting any sort of update from the Ohio State program on the status of the game. Day said last week that he would be able to get his team ready to play as long as the team could have a full practice on Thursday and a walkthrough on Friday.

In a bit of positive news, the team did resume small workouts on Monday, so it appears things are at least moving in the right direction. As more is available we will let you know.
