Ryan Day not interested in the NFL according to reports

It’s bound to happen when you start taking teams on memorable runs. Ohio State head coach Ryan Day has taken the Buckeyes to two-straight College Football Playoff appearances, is recruiting at the highest of levels, and looks like a leader among men for the way he pulled his team through the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic.

Now NFL teams have reportedly begun to take notice. Several rumors surfaced over the weekend that the Jacksonville Jaguars might target Day as their next head coach if another guy with scarlet and gray ties, Urban Meyer, doesn’t take the job first.

The Jaguars are expected to part ways with head coach Doug Marrone soon, and speculation is abounding on his replacement.

That news had a few OSU fans looking for some counseling sessions, but now everyone can seemingly take a step back. That’s because ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Day is not interested in the NFL at this time.

Now, things could always change, but if you’ve seen how Day has carried himself and how much he has become an adopted part of Buckeye Nation, he seems to be very happy and content with what’s going on with his role in the coaching profession right now.

If this gets any further legs, we’ll be on top of it, but for now, it’s time to relax and bask in the glow of putting Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney in his place.
