Ryan Christie set for Bournemouth switch as Celtic star nears Hoops exit

Celtic star Ryan Christie is set to leave the club before deadline day and join Bournemouth.

The playmaker is out of contract in January and Bournemouth have now joined in on the attempts to sign him, and appear to be close to a deal.

Christie didn't want to sign a pre-contract with anyone over fears of being frozen out at Celtic but now looks set to leave Celtic Park in the next 24 hours.

Bournemouth are looking to get promoted back to the English Premier League and Scott Parker wants Christie as part of his team.

Burnley had been frontrunners but Christie feels Bournemouth would suit his style of play more and he would get the chance to play in his most natural position.

The playmaker joined Celtic from Inverness Caley Thistle in 2015 and after loan spells at Aberdeen, broke into the side under Brendan Rodgers and has become a key player.

He’s made 150 appearances for the club and scored 41 goals.

Ange Postecoglou had hoped to convince Christie to sign a new contract but it now looks likely that the midfielders final game for the club will be the 1-0 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.
