Ryan Christie's girlfriend says it 'feels like Christmas Day' after Scotland win

Ryan Christie's girlfriend is feeling rather proud this morning.

Glasgow-based artist Georgie Bell has been throwing support behind her man after the Celtic star helped secure Scotland's place at Euro 2020.

The attacker, who has been dating his stunning other half for the past 18 months, is being celebrated by fans up and down the country after his stunning performance against Serbia last night.

Ryan's goal looked like it was going to be enough for a win in normal time, but penalties were needed and his summed up the feelings of a nation as his tears of joy and relief in his post-match resonated.

Georgie, 25, took to her Instagram page last night to share her joy and pride, saying: "Anyone running round the streets of Glasgow tonight I can join?"

Then today, the talented painter added: "Feels like Christmas Day this morning.

"Thanks for all the amazing messages.

"No words. Love you!!!"

Ryan, who runs a property firm with Georgie, melted the hearts of Scots up and down the country last night with his emotional reaction to Scotland's stunning victory.

Even former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher was choked up at Ryan's passion after he dedicated the Scotland team's first notable victory since 1998 to the whole nation.

Taking to Twitter, Liam said: "Ryan Christie what a lad."

Ryan was lost for words at the final whistle as he saluted his Scotland teammates on ending 23 years of hurt and returning to a major tournament.

And he struggled to put into words how he felt.

He said: "It’s just for everything. I’m gone.

"It’s been a horrible year for everyone, we knew we could give a little something to this country and I hope everyone back home is having a party tonight cause we deserve it.

"We’ve been through so many years. We know it, you know it, it’s a monkey off our back now. We’re going to move on from here."

Georgie, from Tomatin in Inverness-shire, was in bits in her Glasgow flat as she shared his heartfelt interview.

She simply said: "This guy. Absolutely incredible."
