Ryan Christie reveals Celtic's 'personal vendetta' against Sparta Prague as he plots revenge

Ryan Christie knows Celtic got it badly wrong the first time and now they’re driven to make it right.

The club are heading to the Czech Republic for tomorrow’s Europa League clash against Sparta Prague aiming to win points in the section.

Perhaps even more importantly though it’s all about winning back their pride.

Twenty short days ago Neil Lennon and his team hit their lowest point of the campaign when they were trounced 4-1 on their own turf by the Czechs.

Christie insists the defeat hurt the entire squad and that motivation could not be higher as they head out on a revenge mission.

He said: “We’ve got a bit of a personal vendetta about the way the game went at Parkhead. We have been frustrated with our form in Europe right now.

“We want to put that right starting on Thursday night. I want to be there for that reason. Absolutely. We want to prove ourselves in Europe.

“We felt as though we fell short last season against Copenhagen. We felt as though we could have gone through.

“I said it last season and we obviously did very well in the group. Every season we want to prove ourselves in Europe.”
