Neil Lennon has revealed that Ryan Christie is ruled out for the rest of the season after his collision with Aberdeen's Dominic Ball in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
The midfielder was stretched off after suffering multiple facial fractures from the dangerous challenge that resulted in Ball picking up a second yellow card as the Hoops reached the final with a 3-0 win against the Dons.
Christie will undergo surgery today and, as a result, won't feature for the remainder of the season as the Hoops look to secure the treble Treble next month against Hearts.
Lennon said: "Ryan has multiple fractures of the eye socket, jaw and cheekbone so the prognosis isn’t good for the rest of the season really.
"He’s had a great season, he’s a huge player for us and it was a really horrendous collision.
"With it being multiple fractures, it’s going to take a bit more time. We just have to look after him as best as we can and get him back for the start of next season, and we wish him a speedy recovery."
