Ryan Christie explains quirky Celtic celebration as he points the finger at Jeremie Frimpong

Celtic star Ryan Christie has looked to dodge the flack for his celebration against Hearts - putting the blame squarely on young team-mate Jeremie Frimpong.

The Scotland international opened the scoring at Tynecastle, and celebrated with a choreographed handshake routine with Frimpong.

Neil Lennon's men went on to win the match 2-0 with Olivier Ntcham adding the second, but Christie wasn't willing to shoulder responsibility for his celebration.

Speaking about his goal with BT Sport he said: "It started with me tackling James (Forrest) which was a bit selfish!

"Then I managed to creep it through the legs and get it in, and I think that kind of relaxed us.

"Then after that we get the second goal and it's an unbelievable finish by Oli.

"He made that look very easy but I can assure you it's not in those kind of conditions. The second half was a bit more difficult but we got there in the end.

"The celebration? That was Jezza's idea, I'm putting the blame on him! I'm sure I'll get a bit of stick for that in the week to come."

The win sent Celtic five points clear, with Rangers taking on Hibs at Easter Road on Friday.

"At this time of year we're just thinking about ourselves.

"There are still three massive games before the break so we're just looking to take it one game at a time, get the three points and move on."
