Ryan Christie bins Twitter account as Celtic supporters tell star 'the real fans are behind you'

Celtic star Ryan Christie has deactivated his Twitter account in the wake of his red card against Livingston.

The Hoops favourite was sent of in the Hoops' shock 2-0 defeat in West Lothian after a wild lunge on Scott Robinson during the first half.

His decision to take a social media sabbatical happened in the hours after his moment of madness as he removed himself from the Celtic firing line.

Neil Lennon 's Premiership champions are now trailing rivals Rangers by two points after the Ibrox side's 5-0 win over Hamilton.

Christie has enjoyed a brilliant stårt to the season, netting 10 goals in all competitions, and still has plenty of support as a section of the Parkhead faithful flooded his Instagram to share the love.

Here's what Hoops followers have been saying.

Duncanos1 wrote: "Chin up! The real fans are behind you."

Steviebhoy added: "Still plenty of love for you mate, f*** the haters been superb for us last season and this one. Everybody makes mistakes now and then it's about learning from them!

"Chin up bhoy nine is coming don't worry."

The former Inverness star isn't the first star to take a break from Twitter with Scotland captain and Liverpool star Andy Robertson also deactivating his account after giving away a penalty against Napoli last month.
