Ryan Baird called up to Ireland squad after Leinster hat-trick

Ryan Baird has been called up to the Ireland squad after his hat-trick of tries for Leinster against Glasgow on Friday.

The 20-year-old lock put in a man of the match display in the PRO14 and will train with the Ireland first team this week.

Baird was initially included in the original Six Nations squad as a development player before being released back to his province.

He will joined in the Ireland camp by Connacht duo Ultan Dillane and Dave Heffernan who played for their province in South Africa on the weekend.

Andy Farrell's men are preparing for their Six Nations clash with France in a fortnight after the postponement of this weekend's game against Italy.

Indeed, World Rugby are to meet in Paris today to discuss whether the remainder of the tournament will go ahead, or at the least, to decide potential dates for rescheduled games.
