Ryan Adams UK tour: Fans demand refunds after sexual misconduct allegations against singer

Fans of American singer-songwriter Ryan Adams are demanding their money back from his forthcoming tour, after he was accused of multiple instances of sexual misconduct.

In a recent New York Times investigation, Adams was accused of promising career opportunities to young female artists before pursuing them for sex.

Singers including Phoebe Bridgers and Adams' ex-wife Mandy Moore were among those to allege misconduct by the singer, which he denies.

Since the allegations emerged, Adams' new album Big Colors, which was scheduled for released on 19 April, has been pulled by Universal Music Group. Three companies that worked with Adams on music gear have also severed ties with him. The FBI is investigating whether he sent explicit text messages to an underage fan, something Adams "unequivocally" denies.

Fans are now posting on social media demanding a refund for Adams' upcoming tour in the UK, which includes two shows at the Royal Albert Hall.

Emma Buff, from Peterborough, said that while she has been a fan of Adams for a long time, she felt "quite shocked" by the allegations against him and no longer wanted to see him perform live.

"Reading the allegations upset me quite a lot and I decided I didn't want any of my money to go to Ryan Adams in the future," she told the BBC. "I've tried to get a refund on the ticket, I've yer to hear anything back."

A spokesperson for the Royal Albert Hall in London told The Independent: "The venue is being hired by a third party promoter, SJM, for the Ryan Adams concerts. The promoter has advised us that the concerts are still scheduled to go ahead. We are continuing to monitor this situation very closely."

The Independent has contacted promoters and a representative for Adams for comment.
