Rutherglen residents left without water due to burst main

Residents in Rutherglen have been left without water due to a burst main.

Scottish Water have confirmed homes in the G73 postcode are affected, as a result of a burst water main on St. Blane's Drive.

It had been hoped the issue would be rectified by 11am with technicians called out to the site, however as of 2.19pm, engineers are still working at the problem area.

Scottish Water confirmed: "We have located a burst water main on St. Blanes Drive, Rutherglen #G73 which is causing residents to experience no water and low pressure.

"The repair is underway and we estimate completion by 11am with the supplies restoring shortly after."

They later updated: "Technician continue their work to repair a 4" burst water main in #Rutherglen #G73, we will update this message once we have more information becomes available."
