Rutherglen and Hamilton West MP Margaret Ferrier has paid tribute to her parliamentary colleague Sir David Amess, who was murdered last week.
Ms Ferrier has remained silent - both to the media and on her social media pages - since becoming embroiled in a coronavirus scandal last year, when she broke guidelines by travelling to and from London while having the virus.
However, she has now paid tribute to Sir David, who was killed while holding a local surgery for his constituents in Essex last Friday.
Ms Ferrier wrote: "I am devastated to hear the news about Sir David Amess.
"He was always a very likeable, kind and supportive colleague and worked cross party. He will be greatly missed by Members across the House.

"He was an outstanding constituency MP who always worked hard for his constituents. So tenacious in his campaign to get Southend city status.
"Never a fan of virtual meetings, he truly loved meeting his constituents in person, and I know he would have been excited at finally being able to do so.
"My deepest condolences go out to his family, colleagues, staff and his constituents."
Sir David, who had been a Conservative MP since 1983, was stabbed multiple times during a regular Friday meeting with his Southend West constituents at Belfairs Methodist Church in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder and is currently being held under the UK's Terrorism Act.
Police have stated that early investigations revealed a potential motivation linked to Islamist extremism.
Sixty-nine-year-old Sir David is the second MP murdered in the past five years, after the Labour MP Jo Cox was killed in 2016.
