Drugs with an estimated street value of over £80,000 have been recovered in Rutherglen.

Officers on an intelligence-led operation made the bust at a property on Toryglen Road on Tuesday, August 3.

Heroin, herbal cannabis, cocaine, and 8,500 etizolam tablets worth an estimated £81,000 were recovered during the search.

A teenager has been arrested and charged with drug offences in relation to the find. He has been released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.

Detective Inspector Laura Sands said: “We have taken a significant amount of drugs off the street during this operation.

“Drugs can have a devastating impact on communities and we would continue to encourage members of the public to support our efforts to tackle this issue.

“Any intelligence received about drugs activity will be thoroughly investigated and information can be reported to Police Scotland through 101. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
