Rutherglen and Cambuslang police urge locals to be alert after spate of break-ins in the area

Police are urging householders to be on the alert as they investigate a week-long spate of break-ins in Rutherglen and Cambuslang.

Between September 29 and last Saturday homes in East Kilbride Road, Fishescoats Avenue and Bradda Avenue in Rutherglen were broken into.

Housebreakings also occurred in Holmhills Place and Holmhills Terrace across the seven-day period.

Police said the incidents were all in a concentrated area, with some taking place in broad daylight and others overnight.

A spokesperson said: “Whilst effort is ongoing to trace those responsible, we ask that locals lock all windows and doors, even when at home, and use all additional security measures installed in properties.

“Please report all suspicious activity to Police on 101. Free, no-obligation security reviews for residents can be arranged by calling 101 and asking for your local community safety officer.”
