Ruth Wilson, Cush Jumbo and Rosamund Pike are all reportedly in talks to join the cast of Take That’s upcoming musical film, Greatest Day.
As Deadline reports, the trio are set to join the movie, which is described as "a feel-good universal story of love and friendship" based on the boy band’s back catalogue.
The film is an adaptation of Tim Firth’s jukebox musical The Band, which opened in Manchester in 2017 before touring the UK and arriving in the West End in 2018.
It follows five schoolgirls who enjoy a life-affirming experience during a concert from their favourite boyband. The official synopsis reads: "25 years later their lives have changed in a myriad of ways as they reunite to reminisce about their past and discover their future."
The movie will feature songs like Back For Good, A Million Love Songs, Relight My Fire and Patience. Coky Giedroyc (How to Build a Girl) is set to direct the movie, which has been written by Firth. The film is set to be introduced via the virtual Cannes Film Market for the first time this week.
Take That released a statement about the movie, saying: "Greatest Days is a film dedicated to all those who have supported us throughout the years. It puts a mirror on our audience – it's a celebration of our music but it's literally all about the fans and their friendships."
The group recently reformed with Robbie Williams for a one-off virtual show during lockdown.
