Ruth Langsford takes Loose Women 'action' ITV show takes chaotic turn

Ruth Langsford took 'serious' action during Monday's Loose Women as a hilarious segment involving co-star Janet Street-Porter got a bit out of hand.

Right at the start of the hour long live broadcast on ITV,. presenter Ruth said that she and colleagues Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter and Linda Robson would be talking about claims made by footballer Peter Crouch that he was "bullied on a global scale" during his career, often being referred to as a '#lanky striker' and being told he was 'punching' when it came to his relationship with wife Abbey Clancy.

Midway through the show, Janet was given centre stage to demonstrate how to make a DIY swimming hat from a supermarket carrier bag, as viewers at home were left in a state of disbelief at what they were watching. While Janet made light work of her own, Ruth, Coleen and Linda all struggled when it came to making theirs, as the item ran on much longer than bosses had probably anticipated.

Looking distinctly unimpressed with her Loose Womeh co-star, Janet then got out of her chair and walked across to assist Coleen, as Coleen looked in a bit of pain at what Janet was doing to her head.

In order to get things back on track and stop things from spiralling any further, Ruth, aware that the clock was ticking and they had a bullying discussion to get on with, interrupted the chaos to remark: "Now I've got to be serious," as she sat with her attempt at a swimming cap still on her head.

There was a much more serious tone to proceedings half an hour earlier in the show, when Coleen opened up about the 'turmoil' she feels every Father's Day, after it was revealed that herb late dad Tommy had abused her older sister Anne. Talking about how conflicted she feels about posting anything, Coleen said: "things happened with my sister, you know, for her, he was abusive and stuff; but I never experienced that side of him or saw that side of him, so I have a lot of nice memories, she has a lot of bad ones.

"So, it's hard for me to really post anything, , because I feel disloyal to her, but then there's an element when I feel a bit disloyal to him."
