Ruth Langsford said the whole family have been affected by Eamonn Holmes ' chronic pain battle.

Loose Women's host said it had been difficult because he was only getting two or three hours of sleep at most at night.

It has been a tough time for their whole family as Ruth said his illness had affected all of them at home.

During a discussion about "pain-somnia", the TV star gave an update on her husband's chronic pain battle to viewers at home.

She said: "He's having a lot of physio two injections in his back.

"It's difficult dealing with that pain when you're not sleeping. It affects whole family, affects when you are working."

Later in the show, she added: "Eamonn getting two or three hours sleep if he's lucky."

Eamonn has been battling with chronic pain for five weeks.

But the presenter was delighted to tell fans he was feeling good for the first time in weeks following his physio and injections.

On Monday, he tweeted: "My Physio has just left, and u know what? For the first time in 5 weeks I feel good!

"Can't believe I'm saying that but steroid injections from last week must be kicking in too. The comeback starts here....... I hope."

Elsewhere in the Loose Women episode, Ruth got candid about her fights with Eamonn and the silent treatment.

The presenter confessed the couple can go days without speaking to each other after a row until Eamonn makes her laugh or she needs his advice for something.

She said: "We will argue. Both of us think we are right. We do the silent treatment. It's more of a, I've got nothing to say you know?

"I'm right, he thinks the same. We don't return to the row because we would never resolve it.

"Something will happen, he'll make me laugh but we can go a couple of days without speaking."
